The burial record for Joachim Lefebvre (lower right-hand corner), which reads as follows:

Le vingt deux avril, mil neuf cent vingt-six, nous Prêtre soussigné, avons inhumé dans la Cimetière de cette paroisse le corps de Joachim Lefebvre, cultivateur, veuf de Marie Louise Bourget, décédé le vingt du mois ___________ âgé de soixante dix neuf ans xxx mois xxx jours, de la paroisse de Saint Jean de la __________. Témoins Lindsay ___________ et An dré ___________ tous _________ qui ont signé. Lecture faite.

On the 22nd of April, 1926, the undersigned Priests have buried in the cemetery of this parish the body of Joachim Lefebvre, farmer, widdower of Marie Louise Bourget, died the 20th day of this month, aged 69 years xxx months xxx days, of the parish of Saint Jean de la ____________. Witnesses Lindsay _________ and André _______, all of who have signed below.

By the time of the 1901 Canadian census, both Joseph and Aristide had left Québec for Michigan. Joachim had told the children that there were too many children to be supported by the farm and that some of the children would have to leave. Joseph decided to go to Michigan and Aristide, or Alex as he was later to be known, decided to go with him.

Ne s'etant decouver aucun empèchement au dit mariage, de du consentement des _________, nous _______ soussigné ______ à cet effet par la curie de cette paroisse, avant ________ mutuel consentement de mariage et leur avons donné la benediction nuptial en presence de Pierre Bourget père de l'epouse, de Pierre Bourget ______, frère de l'epouse, de Napoleon Laberge et de plusieurs autres qui ____ que les epouse n'ont pas signer.

My translation (complete with mistakes) follows:

On February 7, 1871, after the publication of two marriage bans and obtaining exemption from another ban, between Joachim Lefebvre, day-labourer, major son of Jean Baptiste Lefebvre, farmer, and of Adeline Sambo (the last name should have been written "Archambault") of this parish on the one hand, and Louise Bourget, minor daughter of Pierre Bourget, farmer, and of Maria Anne Boudrias, also of this parish, on the other hand. We have not found any obstacles to this marriage, and by the consent of _________, we have signed below to this effect for the curate of this parish, following the mutual consent of marriage and after giving the benediction of marriage in the presence of Pierre Bourget, father of the bride, of Pierre Bourget, brother of the bride and Napoleon Laberge, and of many others who _______ that the spouses do not have to sign.
